Primtex&Bernabo Art-Furniture

Printex, one of Budapest’s iconic quality fabric stores, has been located at Árpád út 16 for 33 years, and Bernabo Art-Furniture, which has been dealing with high-quality furniture restoration and sales for over 26 years, have now officially merged. Bernabo Art-Furniture’s specialty is the search for, restoration and reviving of art deco and unique furniture, in uncompromising quality.

One of the sensations of its offering is the completely unique armchair designed by Lajos Kozma in 1929, of which he published several photos in the volume Einzelmöbel und neuzeitliche Raumkunst published by Alexander Koch Verlag in Darmstadt in 1930. The piece is an important example of the transitional period in which Kozma abandoned baroque and orientalizing features and turned towards cleaner, modern forms. French art deco furniture, paintings, paper cuts, and carefully restored rarities await visitors.

This year we are also preparing something truly special… We are presenting our own designed fabric, which was born from the artistic work of a contemporary

French painter. A textile from a painting. A furniture from art. This is the point where Printex and Bernabo Art-Furniture truly become one.

This year we will present ourselves together at the Art&Antique exhibition in Bálna, where we are preparing real rarities:

  • A museum-quality armchair designed by Lajos Kozma
  • French painting
  • French art deco furniture
  • Own designed fabric – based on the design images of a French painter

This collection does not only present furniture and textiles – but also stories, art and timeless elegance.

Let’s meet at art&antique, in Bálna!
